| A: | One of the major factors that impact the normal turnaround time of devices being submitted for calibration services is temperature. Stabilization of gage temperature, commonly referred to as soak time, is a process that cannot be accelerated. All QCC master gage blocks and reference standards have been calibrated at the optimum temperature of 68 degrees Fahrenheit per NIST recommendations. Soak time, which is commonly 24 to 36 hours, is required to allow the client’s gage to reach that optimum temperature. This provides our customers with the most accurate calibration results. We at QCC challenge you to find any competitive calibration source that is as dedicated to timely turnaround as our calibration technicians. |
