| A: | No – In order to produce a radiograph QCTL must use a source of radioactivity either an x-ray tube or a gamma source. The x-ray tube contains no radioactive material, which could contaminate your parts or equipment. The gamma source (radioactive isotope) is encapsulated or sealed to strict governmental standards that prevent material from becoming contaminated. Daily inspection and maintenance are performed by State certified technicians to monitor the integrity of these exposure devices. Radiation is part of the light spectrum and dissipates from your facility as quickly as light dissipates when you click a light switch. |
